Mexico update

We made it to Mexico with no casualties except for one suitcase. It still hasn't shown up but we're praying hard (Amber is praying especially hard!). We spent the afternoon resting (we left the BX at 3am) and then had a fabulous dinner of what tasted like the best tostados you've ever eaten. Apparently Travis & Danielle have told the people here that we eat like pigs becuase they kept bringing out food until we were all about to burst.

The entire team (plus Travis & Danielle) is staying at a house owned by an older Mexican believer who lives alone. She is very regal and kind and reminds me of the godfather (minus the mafia). When we returned to the house for dinner we found the electricity off so our dinner and orientation was done by candlelight. I wondered how we would wake up on time this morning but I didn't know a rooster lives in the backyard. Unfortunately the rooster's clock is wrong and he woke us up around 4am. Around 6 the powers came back on in time for us to shower and get ready for church.

The morning worship service was great. The worship was lively and was led by a band and worship dancers. Summer and Amber have already requested we add this feature to our worship services so I'm sending them to Bryan :) After 1.5 hours of singing, Carlos preached. I'm not sure what he said but it looked like he preached a great message j/k. He preached that Jesus is God's word incarnate, theBible is God's word written, and the Spirit is God's word internalized, at least that's my translation.

After the morning service we ate lunch that the church prepared. I think it was potluck and we were the ones who were lucky. I'm not sure what all we ate but it was delicious. Beans, rice, mole', beef, tortillas and vegetables were on my plate.

There is no cell service or Internet access where we are staying so updates may be scarce. Everyone is in good health and is working hard together. Travis & Danielle are naturals and you would never know they have only been here a short time. Pray for the team tomorrow as we go door-to-door doing gospel saturation in preparation of the worship service tomorrow night.

We serve a great God who sent his son to die for people in Chattanooga and Mexico City.
